I went through A New Start and graduated from the program last year. I can strongly say, without a doubt, that A New Start saved my life. I had absolutely nothing to look forward to, nothing to live for, before entering A New Start. I had no relationship with my family, I had no friends, and I was absolutely destroying my body, just to not feel anything. From my first admissions call, I knew I was going to be in the right place. I was given one on one attention and made to feel comfortable about my decision to enter this program. I\'m not going to lie- the program is not perfect...nothing is. There are little inconsistencies here and there that can be worked on, timeliness that can be worked on... but really, that\'s life! Having one day where I can\'t go to the gym at the promised time isn\'t going to make or break my sobriety. Having quality staff that genuinely care is what really helps you develop skills to stay sober. The one on one therapy was also incredible. The therapists are so great and really know what they\'re doing. They helped me get my relationship back with my family! I would have to say the day I look back on most fondly is my graduation. Staff stood in front of the community with me and vocalized all of the growth they had seen me experience. It was pretty incredible to have someone give me a certificate and remind me that I have come a long way. I have my 1 year sober birthday coming up, and I can genuinely say I wouldn\'t be here without A New Start. I still visit regularly as a member of the alumni program, and I wouldn\'t have it any other way.
It provides behavior modification, and it serves but not exclusively the lgbt community. The love too much. ` The staff at this facility are the most loving and caring people I've ever me in my life, they love you till you can learn to love yourselve .they also provide job training and assistance with finding a job towards the end of the program truly an amazing place. At Van ness you don't find yourself you build yourself from the ground up. This place will always be my home it's we're I learned about honesty, integrity and how to be a friend.

Rehabilitation facilities offer a range of diverse approaches and solutions to address addiction, aiding individuals on their path to recovery. These options encompass various strategies, including medical assistance and therapeutic support, all designed to provide personalized care and comprehensive guidance for those striving to break free from addiction and rebuild their lives.
Rehabilitation acknowledges the uniqueness of each person’s recovery journey and thus provides multiple levels of care, including detox, inpatient, outpatient, and aftercare. These stages of treatment ensure that individuals receive tailored support and resources aligned with their specific needs and progress toward recovery.
Detoxification programs play a critical role in the early stages of addiction treatment, primarily focusing on the safe and supervised withdrawal from substances. These programs are medically monitored to ensure the individual’s physical and psychological well-being during this challenging phase. Medications may be administered as part of the treatment to alleviate the discomfort and symptoms of withdrawal, making the process more manageable and safer. This medical support not only helps in addressing immediate health concerns but also sets the foundation for a smoother transition into further stages of rehabilitation, emphasizing the importance of a holistic approach to recovery.
The duration of detoxification typically spans from 3 to 7 days, although it can vary based on several factors. These include the type and amount of substances used, an individual’s overall health, and their unique response to withdrawal symptoms. In some cases, detox may extend beyond this range for more severe or complex cases, emphasizing the importance of personalized care and flexibility in addiction treatment.
Inpatient rehab programs are designed to provide comprehensive and structured treatment to individuals seeking recovery from substance use disorders. These programs typically involve a residential setting, where patients reside at the treatment facility for a specified period, allowing for round-the-clock care and support. While 30-day programs are the most popular, the duration of inpatient treatment can vary based on the severity of the addiction and the individual’s progress. Extended programs of 60 or 90 days may be recommended when necessary to ensure a more comprehensive and lasting recovery.
A cornerstone of inpatient drug rehab is therapy, which plays a pivotal role in helping patients stay on track with their healing journey. Through individual and group therapy sessions, patients can delve into the underlying causes of their addiction, learn coping mechanisms, and develop essential life skills for a substance-free future. Moreover, inpatient drug and alcohol rehab programs are well-equipped to address co-occurring disorders, such as mental health conditions that often accompany addiction. In essence, inpatient drug rehab provides a structured, supportive environment where individuals can focus entirely on their healing and gain the tools needed to lead a substance-free life.
Outpatient rehab programs offer a flexible approach to addiction treatment, allowing individuals to receive the care they need while continuing to live at home and see to their daily commitments and responsibilities. These programs typically involve scheduled therapy sessions, counseling, and educational workshops at various levels of intensity, ranging from a few hours of therapy per week to more comprehensive programs with daily sessions. This flexibility allows individuals to tailor their treatment to their specific needs and commitments.
One of the key aspects of outpatient drug and alcohol rehab is the emphasis on teaching tools for aftercare and relapse prevention. Through therapeutic interventions, individuals learn essential coping strategies, stress management techniques, and relapse prevention skills that empower them to maintain their sobriety beyond the formal treatment period. By focusing on skill-building and relapse prevention, drug and alcohol outpatient rehab equips individuals with the tools necessary to achieve lasting recovery while maintaining their daily responsibilities and support networks.
