Hina Mauka

Me going to gina Mauka was the best thing I could have done. It helped me learn about myself and gave me insight to the greater things in life. They don't leave you with too much idle time. The residential stay might benefit from being longer.

Exclusive Hawaii Rehab

Beautiful, serene property and cozy home. Every meal is made to order, with love and is so amazing. The staff are the most committed, loving, kind, people who are doing what they were born for. The owners are so creative with meeting every person idividuals needs. Truly an amazing place to heal. Sometimes the cows moo really loud. I was court ordered for 90 days. I was taking adderral and also had autoimmune issues. I was so sad and torn to leave my kids who were 12 and 14 at the time and getting there was half the battle. Smelling the Hawaiin air, seeing the beautiful home and property and being met with such kindness and compassion eased my anxiety. The days were filled with teaching, discovery, art, play, exercise, delicious meals, laughter, tears, rest and self care. They are teachers of life with a lot of experience. And they actually practice what they preach. Some days I was really angry or sad and it was all accepted. That's the part I was most blown away by. There's nothing I could say or do that would make them treat me differently. They love and accept and are compassionate and kind because that's what they choose to do and be. No matter how I am that's how they are. I felt safe to explore the traumas of my past and look at my beliefs and how they shaped my life and to do it without judgment. I went back for more healing a few different times after that for a total of six months. The Exclusive Hawaii is truly a place of healing and has forever changed my life because of the vision, dedication and love that they live and give.

About Hawaii

Hawaii, the Aloha State, is a unique and diverse state located in the Pacific Ocean. With a population of approximately 1.4 million people1, Hawaii is known for its stunning natural beauty, including white sand beaches, lush tropical rainforests, and towering volcanic peaks. The state’s geography is dominated by eight main islands, each with its own distinct character and features.

Hawaii’s rich cultural heritage is influenced by its Polynesian roots, as well as its history of immigration from Asia and Europe. The state is home to a vibrant arts and music scene, including traditional Hawaiian music and dance, as well as modern genres. Hawaii’s cuisine is a fusion of different cultures, with dishes such as poke, spam musubi, and shave ice being popular local favorites. Overall, Hawaii’s unique attributes, geography, culture, and cuisine make it a fascinating and one-of-a-kind destination for travelers and residents alike.

Addiction in Hawaii

Addiction is a significant issue in Hawaii, with substance abuse affecting individuals and communities across the state. According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, around 8.4% of Hawaii residents, which is approximately 97,000 individuals, reported suffering from substance use disorder in the past year between 2017 and 2019. This figure was higher than the national average of 7.4%.2

In addition, overdose fatality rates in Hawaii increased from 12.4 per 100,000 in 2011 to 17.3 per 100,000 in 2021.3 The primary reason for these deaths is the use of opioids.

Addiction Treatment in Hawaii

Fortunately, there are multiple levels of addiction treatment in Hawaii, providing you with a range of options to suit your unique needs and circumstances.

The first step in addiction treatment is often detoxification, which involves medically supervised withdrawal from drugs or alcohol to manage withdrawal symptoms and ensure your safety.

After detox, you may choose to enter an inpatient or outpatient treatment program, depending on the severity of your addiction and the level of support you require. Inpatient programs offer round-the-clock care and support in a residential setting, while outpatient programs allow you to receive treatment while continuing to live at home.

Many addiction treatment centers in Hawaii offer a variety of therapies and specialized treatment programs, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care. These programs may be tailored to address specific issues, such as co-occurring mental health disorders, trauma, or substance-specific addictions.

If seeking a more luxurious treatment experience, there are options for luxury rehabs in Hawaii that offer high-end accommodations and amenities, such as private rooms, spa treatments, and gourmet meals. These facilities often offer a range of specialized therapies and programs, including holistic and alternative therapies, as well as traditional evidence-based treatments.

Private-funded rehabs are also available if you prefer to pay for treatment out-of-pocket or with private insurance. These facilities offer a variety of treatment options and are often located in scenic and peaceful settings.

When seeking addiction treatment in Hawaii, you can use online resources such as our online search tool to locate rehab options near you and to compare different facilities and programs based on your needs and preferences.

How Much Does Rehab Cost?

In most cases, insurance will at least partially cover addiction treatment. This means that you can use your insurance to pay for some or all of the costs associated with detox, inpatient, or outpatient treatment. However, it is important to note that the extent of coverage will vary depending on the type of insurance plan you have and the specific treatment program, therefore, it is important to contact your insurance provider to determine how treatment will be covered.

If you are uninsured or your insurance does not cover addiction treatment, there are still options available. Many addiction treatment centers in Hawaii offer payment plans and sliding-scale fees based on income to make treatment more affordable. Additionally, some treatment centers offer scholarships or grants to help offset the costs of treatment. There is also the option to try to get into a state-funded treatment center. These centers provide addiction treatment services to low-income individuals who do not have insurance or who are underinsured. While there may be waitlists and eligibility requirements for state-funded treatment, it is a viable option if you need help but cannot afford private treatment.

It is important to explore all of your options and choose the treatment program that is best suited to your needs and circumstances. By taking advantage of insurance coverage, payment plans, and state-funded treatment, you can receive the care and support you need to achieve lasting recovery.

Length of Stay in Rehab

When it comes to addiction treatment in Hawaii, there are a variety of options for the length of stay. The most common durations include 30-day, 60-day, and 90-day programs. These programs are designed to provide you with intensive treatment and support during the early stages of recovery when you are most vulnerable to relapse.

However, if you require longer-term care, long-term rehab is another option that lasts between 6 months to 2 years, depending on your treatment needs and the specific facility or program you are enrolled in. This type of program is typically best suited for individuals with severe addiction or those who have experienced multiple relapses in the past.

Recovery Starts Today

Finding addiction treatment that is right for you is critical to achieving lasting recovery. With the variety of treatment options available in Hawaii, it is important to take the time to research and choose a program that meets your unique needs and circumstances. By doing so, you can maximize your chances for success and create a solid foundation for lifelong recovery.
