Our COVID-19 protocols

Patients: We screens all patients prior to admission to determine personal travel history, potential exposure, potential contact with someone who has traveled to areas of concern, any direct contact by the patients with persons diagnosed with COVID-19, and any symptoms of illness. Those who screen positive will not be admitted to treatment. Those who screen negative will be eligible for admission.

Staff: We are committed to ensuring staff at our facilities are not infected with COVID-19 virus. Staff who have traveled to areas of concern, have been in contact with someone in these areas, have been in direct contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19, or shows any signs of illness are asked to follow the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, which dictates 14 days of isolation with no symptoms from the time of contact.

Nurse Kerry is my life saver. She is one of the first nurses that I remember meeting when I first got here and was going through detox. She brought me some clothes and made sure I had shoes. Keita the TA is very helpful. She was able to relate to me and I found out that we have a lot in common. She's always pleasant and she's real funny. Wherever she's at she is always laughing. She is so enthusiastic and full of energy. It makes it more comfortable to be in a place like this. She even joined the clients for karaoke and she helped us to have fun and enjoy ourselves in recovery. I learned that its possible to have fun with people without needing to get high, that was such an important realization.

Tarshay is just special. She was the first person I met when I got here to River Oaks. She goes above and beyond as far as talking to me during my first week and making sure I was ok. She has been very inspirational to me and makes sure I get where I'm going and what I need. Its so good to know I have that kind of support and someone that cares and I can depend on. The teachers love their jobs. Olivia is very enthusiastic and brings a lot of laughter to the class. I like the materials she shares, like today we talked about an interesting topic that helped me understand why Im here. She gets a lot of class participation and we discussed boundaries and how to focus on our own recovery and not other peoples recovery. I understand now that the only person Im responsible for is myself. I like that she keeps good control of her class and doesn't let people cross talk too much and ensures that we all follow the rules by going over group expectations and she sticks to the expectations she sets. From day one I've enjoyed her class.

Anthony in the kitchen is warm and corteous. He always give me a little bit extra food. He pays attention to the clients and makes sure I am eating so I can gain some weight.
